Testing 17th Makes A Mark For Signature Hole
Saturday December 20, 2003
The 17th at Moonah Links is like all great golf holes, at once a thing of beauty and terror. The view from behind the green is a panorama of market gardens, horse studs and a vineyard, rolling away to a hazy horizon. Files of people move slowly around the straw-coloured foreground following golfers hither and thither, like herds of cattle that so recently grazed here. It is a rustic idyll in the style of that well-known 19th century man of links and pars, Thomas Hardy.
